Carpathian National Nature Park

Carpathian National Nature Park is a protected area in Ukraine’s Zakarpattia Oblast that conserves Carpathian mountain ecosystems including mixed beech and conifer forests, alpine meadows and river valleys. The park is important for regional biodiversity and for preserving characteristic mountain landscapes.

Visitors come for hiking, wildlife observation and to access a range of mountain habitats from forested slopes to subalpine meadows. Trails vary in difficulty and much of the terrain is managed for conservation and low-impact recreation.

The park was created during the Soviet period to protect representative Carpathian habitats and has been managed since to balance conservation with public use. It forms part of the broader network of protected areas across the Ukrainian Carpathians.

Geographically the park lies within the Ukrainian Carpathians in Zakarpattia Oblast, encompassing upland terrain and river valleys typical of this part of the mountain range.
