How to Get to Canisp #
Nearest road access is from the A894 and minor roads around Lochinver in Sutherland. The usual start is a short drive from Lochinver (roughly 10-20 minutes by car) to the Allt a’ Choire parking areas. There is very limited public transport; walkers generally arrive by car or organized shuttle from nearby villages.

- Approach the summit ridge from the south via the Allt a' Choire route for the best cairn views-avoid the corrie route in late winter without crampons.
- Look for polished rock slabs and ancient sheepfolds near the summit; these traces reveal the mountain's pastoral history.
