The Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa, Ontario, is a national museum dedicated to Canadian aviation and space history and one of the country’s largest collections of historic aircraft and related artifacts. It is operated as part of Ingenium - Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation.

Large-span hangars display a range of aircraft from early biplanes to jet-era military and civil types alongside space-related artifacts and interpretive exhibits. Dozens of airframes are on view indoors with rotating temporary exhibits and educational displays aimed at all ages.

The museum grew from federal and private collections assembled to preserve Canadian aviation heritage and has developed conservation and restoration programs to maintain its holdings. Over time the institution expanded its public exhibits and outreach while formal administration moved under the federal museum organization now known as Ingenium.

Sited beside the historic Rockcliffe airfield in Ottawa, the museum sits on the city’s eastern side within Ontario and is accessible by road from central Ottawa.

  • Location detail: Located adjacent to the historic Rockcliffe airfield; some aircraft can be viewed from nearby outdoor areas.
  • Visitor tip: Check the museum's event calendar for temporary exhibitions and special restoration-area tours, which run intermittently.
