Ca' Rezzonico

Ca’ Rezzonico is a palazzo on Venice’s Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro district, primarily associated with 18th-century Venetian art and domestic interiors. The building was completed in the 18th century and today operates as a public museum focused on Venetian life and art in the 1700s.

Exhibitions occupy the palace’s grand rooms, displaying period furniture, paintings, and frescoed ceilings that illustrate the city’s late-Baroque and Rococo culture. The museum route typically includes the grand staircase, ballroom and state rooms where original decoration and commissioned works are displayed.

The palazzo’s initial design was by Baldassarre Longhena and later construction and decoration continued into the 18th century under other architects and patrons. It was converted into a public museum in the 20th century to conserve its interiors and present Venice’s cultural history.

Located on the north bank of the Grand Canal near the Accademia bridge, it is a short walk from major Venice attractions and is easily reached by vaporetto along the canal.
