How to Get to Bundi#
Bundi is most easily reached via Kota (rail hub) or by road from Jaipur or Udaipur. Many visitors take a train to Kota Junction and complete the short onward trip to Bundi by bus or taxi.
Jaipur International Airport (JAI): Jaipur is the main airport most visitors use to reach Bundi, with a road transfer of roughly 3.5-4.5 hours by car or coach. Private transfers from Jaipur to Bundi are common.
Udaipur (UDR) / Kota (not regular commercial): Udaipur’s Maharana Pratap Airport is another option (longer drive). Kota is the nearest major rail hub; its airport has very limited service so rail/road from Jaipur/Udaipur is typical.
Train: Bundi is served by Bundi Railway Station; the nearest major rail hub is Kota Junction, about 35-40 km away, with frequent trains across Rajasthan. Many travellers arrive by train at Kota and take a short bus or taxi to Bundi.
Bus: Regular buses and private coaches run from Kota and Jaipur to Bundi; the Kota-Bundi road transfer takes roughly 40-60 minutes and buses run frequently.
How to Get Around Bundi#
Most visitors reach Bundi via Kota (rail hub) and then use a short bus or taxi transfer. Inside Bundi, walking and bikes are ideal for seeing the historic core while taxis handle longer or luggage‑heavy transfers.
- Train (via Kota) (100-500 INR) - Kota Junction is the nearest major railhead; from Kota you can take a local train or taxi to Bundi (around 40-60 minutes). Trains to Kota are frequent from across Rajasthan and India’s rail network is the practical backbone for reaching Bundi.
- Intercity bus / Coach (50-300 INR) - Buses connect Bundi with Kota, Jaipur and other Rajasthan cities; the Kota-Bundi run is short and frequent. Coaches from Jaipur take longer but are an inexpensive way to reach Bundi.
- Taxi / Private car (800-2,500 INR) - Private taxis from Kota or Jaipur offer direct door‑to‑door service and are convenient if you are on a tight schedule. Travel time from Kota is under an hour; fares are higher than bus or train but comfortable for groups or luggage.
