Best Time to Visit Bumpe#
Bumpe is easiest to visit in the drier months (November-February and June-September) when roads are passable and humidity is lower. Heavy rains from May to October can isolate villages and flood tracks.
May - October
24-31 °C (75-88 °F)
Persistent, heavy rains make lowland roads boggy and increase biting insects; waterfalls and rivers are spectacular if you can manage slower travel.
March - April
28-35 °C (82-95 °F)
Oppressively hot and humid just before rains; mornings are usable but afternoons scorch - hydrate constantly and expect dramatic thunderstorms to break the heat.
November - February
22-30 °C (72-86 °F)
Drier, breezier period perfect for river trips and village walks; mosquitoes are reduced and driving is far easier than during the wet season.

- Shared minibus / coaster - Coaster minibuses provide the bulk of inter-town passenger services; they are inexpensive and run on popular routes. Expect variable departure times and expect loading stops for cargo along the way.
- Private car / hire - Private hires from regional towns offer more direct travel and can be time-saving where public services are sparse. They are a good choice if you have luggage or need a fixed departure time.
- Motorcycle taxi - Motorcycle taxis are used for short local trips or to reach villages off the main road. They are fast for single passengers but offer no luggage room-use with care regarding safety equipment.
- Local coach - Where available, local coaches provide slightly more comfort than coasters and are a reliable option on scheduled routes between larger towns and district centres.
