How to Get to Brisbane Forest Park #
From Brisbane CBD, drive north-west on Mount Samson Road (Moggill Road/State Route connections) toward Mount Glorious or take the Caboolture/Moreton Bay routes to the northern entrances. Main access points include Mount Glorious Road and the Gold Creek picnic area (approx. 40-60 minutes by car from Brisbane). No single transit route serves the park end-to-end.
Tips for Visiting Brisbane Forest Park #
- If aiming for the best views, approach D'Aguilar (formerly Brisbane Forest Park) from Mount Glorious or Dayboro - both give access to different trailheads.
- Avoid weekends if possible; local families use the picnic areas and campsites on Saturdays and the more remote trails are busier then.
- Check Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service alerts for fire closures in dry season.
Best Time to Visit Brisbane Forest Park #
Best outside the Queensland summer (Dec-Feb) when heat, rain and leeches can make bushwalking unpleasant. Spring and autumn combine pleasant temperatures with good visibility.
