Main image

Brandywine Falls Provincial Park protects a prominent waterfall and surrounding forested lands in coastal British Columbia. The falls are one of the park’s main natural attractions and are accessible from a short trail and viewing platform.

A short trail and boardwalk lead from the parking area to an overlook above the canyon where the waterfall drops approximately 70 metres. The site is popular for short hikes, photography and picnics and serves as a roadside natural stop on the regional highway.

The falls and canyon were shaped by volcanic lava flows and glacial erosion; the area was later protected as a provincial park to conserve the geological feature and adjacent forest.

The park is located on the Sea-to-Sky corridor in southwestern British Columbia, roughly between the towns of Squamish and Whistler, and is reached from the main coastal highway.

  • Waterfall height and geology: The waterfall drops roughly 70 metres and is formed where a lava flow crosses a glacier-carved valley; viewpoints are reachable via a short, partially boardwalked trail.
  • Best viewing conditions: Best views are after sustained rainfall when water flow is highest; the site is a short roadside stop on the Sea-to-Sky corridor with limited parking during peak season.

What to See #

  • Viewpoint boardwalk: The main viewing platform and boardwalk that lead to a formal overlook of the waterfall and allow safe viewing of the 70-metre drop.
  • Trails and picnic areas: Short forested trails and picnic sites that link the parking area to the falls viewpoint and surrounding day-use facilities.
