Bouba Njida National Park

Bouba Njida National Park is a protected area in Cameroon’s North Region that preserves Sudanian savanna landscapes and associated wildlife. It is one of the country’s national parks established to conserve large mammals and their habitats.

The park is known for populations of savanna-adapted species including elephants and antelopes, and it serves as a conservation area within a matrix of agricultural and pastoral lands. Management and conservation challenges such as poaching have affected wildlife in parts of the park in recent decades.

The protected area lies in northern Cameroon near the borderlands of the North Region and is accessed from regional towns; the surrounding landscape is a mix of dry savanna, gallery forest along watercourses, and rural settlements.
