Boggy Peak
Mountain Antigua's highest point, formerly Mount Obama
Antigua’s highest hill offers short hikes and coastal panoramas over Caribbean waters. Visitors tackle ridgelines for island views, photograph the shoreline and combine climbs with nearby beaches and village visits.
Boggy Peak is the highest summit on the island of Antigua, located in Saint Mary parish. The peak rises above the central spine of the island and is the island’s principal high point.
The summit is accessible via hiking routes and provides wide views over Antigua and the surrounding Caribbean Sea. It has been referenced by both the traditional name Boggy Peak and, for a period, the name Mount Obama.
The peak sits inland within Antigua’s hilly interior and is a focal point for local walking and viewpoint visits rather than large-scale infrastructure.
- Highest point and views: At about 402 metres above sea level, it is the highest point on Antigua and offers panoramic views across the island and surrounding sea.
- Name history: The summit's name was officially changed to Mount Obama in 2009 and later reverted to Boggy Peak; both names are known locally and in travel references.
