The Bodmer Library, known as the Fondation Bodmer, is a private library and museum located in Cologny in the Canton of Geneva, housing a collection of rare manuscripts, early printed books and literary archives assembled by the Swiss collector Martin Bodmer.
Exhibition rooms display manuscripts, early printed works and literary documents spanning antiquity to modern times, arranged to illustrate the history of written culture. There is also a reading room and facilities for scholars to consult items from the collection under supervised conditions.
The collection was assembled in the 20th century by Martin Bodmer and organised under a foundation to preserve and display important literary and documentary holdings. The foundation established museum and library facilities in Cologny to house and exhibit the collection to the public and researchers.
