The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër) is a karst spring and natural freshwater pool in southern Albania, famed for its intensely blue, clear water and circular shape. It is a popular short-visit natural attraction and photo subject in Vlorë County.
The spring appears as a deep, clear pool fed by an underground karst source; surrounding paths and lookout points allow visitors to view the pool from a few vantage points. Nearby there are small walking routes and informal picnic areas, but facilities are basic.
Locally the site has been a known landmark for generations and has become more visited in recent decades as road access improved. It functions as a natural spring rather than a constructed site and attracts day visitors rather than long-stay tourism.
The Blue Eye lies inland in Vlorë County amid limestone terrain and woodland of southern Albania. The site is reached by local roads and a short on-foot approach from the nearest parking and settlement areas.
- Swimming and safety: Water temperature is cold year-round and the pool forms part of a karst spring system; swimming is possible in some nearby pools but conditions vary and local advice should be followed.

How to Get to Blue Eye #
The Blue Eye is reached from Sarandë (about 30-40 km) or Gjirokastër by car via the SH4 road; local minibuses and private tours also visit the site. There is a small parking area and short walk to the spring.
