Blauen, commonly called Hochblauen, is a prominent summit in the southern Black Forest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The peak reaches approximately 1,165 meters in elevation and is known for its panoramic views over the Rhine valley and, on clear days, toward the Alps.

A network of well-marked hiking trails leads to the summit from nearby towns and villages; the summit area includes visitor facilities, viewpoints and communication installations. The mountain is a popular day-hike destination for walkers from the spa town of Badenweiler and surrounding communities.

The mountain has long been used for recreation and local forestry; modern amenities include maintained trails and a transmitter near the top. The broader area is managed as part of the Black Forest’s mosaic of recreational and conservation land.

Blauen sits above the spa town of Badenweiler in southwestern Germany and forms part of the southern segment of the Black Forest range, within easy reach of towns in the Freiburg region.

• Elevation: 1,165 meters (about 3,822 feet), making it one of the more prominent peaks in the southern Black Forest with extensive regional views.

From Badenweiler center, the summit trailhead is a 30-40 minute walk through Kurpark and up the marked footpaths; follow signs for Hochblauen. By car, drive on L140 toward Oberweiler and park at the trailhead (short walk). The nearest regional rail connection is to Müllheim or Basel; local buses serve Badenweiler from those hubs.

• Take the trail from Badenweiler's Kurpark - it's the steep but quick route and leaves the longer ridgewalk for later.
• Early mornings after a frost give remarkable clarity; on clear days Alpine peaks glitter to the south.
• Bring binoculars for the paragliders - locals launch from the summit and it's a modest local spectacle.
