How to Get to Blackrock, Dublin

Blackrock is a south Dublin suburb easily reached from Dublin Airport (DUB) via taxi or by combining airport bus services with the DART. The DART provides a fast, frequent rail link from the city centre.

By Air

Dublin Airport (DUB): The main airport for Dublin and the Dublin area. From DUB to Blackrock you can take a taxi (approx. 25-40 minutes depending on traffic) or combine public transport: Airlink 747/757 or regular bus to the city centre then DART rail to Blackrock. Taxis from the airport are typically €30-45; the Airlink bus to the city is about €7 one-way (price at time of writing).

Shannon Airport (SNN): Farther away and not practical for direct travel to Blackrock; if arriving at Shannon use a coach or train to Dublin then the DART for the final leg.

By Train & Bus

Train (DART): Blackrock has its own DART station (Blackrock Station) on the coastal south line between Bray and Dublin city (Pearse/Connolly). From Dublin city centre the DART takes about 15-25 minutes to Blackrock; single fares within Dublin’s fare system vary by zone (typical cash fare around €2-4, lower with Leap Card).
