How to Get to Black Mountains (Bhutan)

Most approaches are from central Bhutan: the valley towns of Wangdue Phodrang and Trongsa are the usual staging points. From Wangdue Phodrang drive or hire a 4x4 toward the Phobjikha/Black Mountains area; many higher trails require local guides and, in protected zones, permission. Domestic flights into Paro or Bumthang plus a road transfer are the common routing for international travelers.
