Bislett Stadion is a multi-use stadium in the Bislett neighborhood of Oslo, Norway. The original venue opened in 1922 and a major redevelopment was completed in 2005.
The facility is configured primarily for track and field with a standard 400 m athletics track and seating for roughly 15,000 people. It hosts international athletics meetings, national championships and occasional football fixtures, and is known for a high number of middle-distance world records set on its track.
The site was first developed as a sports ground in the early 20th century, rebuilt after periods of intensive use and refurbishment, and underwent its most recent major reconstruction in 2004-2005 to modernize athletics and spectator facilities. Over time its role has focused increasingly on athletics meetings and training.
The stadium sits in central Oslo, a short distance north of the city center and easily reached from central neighborhoods by public transport.
