How to Get to Biecz#
Biecz is best reached by coach or by rail to the nearest towns (Gorlice/Jasło) followed by a short bus or taxi. Buses provide the most direct and frequent public connections to the town.
Kraków John Paul II Airport (KRK): Kraków is the primary international airport for Biecz. From KRK take a train or bus to Gorlice or Jasło, then a local bus or taxi to Biecz (total journey usually 1.5-2.5 hours depending on connections).
Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport (RZE): Rzeszów is another option-travel by coach or train to Jasło or Gorlice and then use regional buses to reach Biecz (overall travel times are similar to using Kraków).
Train: Biecz has no active passenger rail station; the nearest reasonable railheads are Gorlice or Jasło (Gorlice railway station, Jasło railway station). From those stations take a regional bus or taxi to Biecz-rail + bus journeys generally take 30-60 minutes from the nearest hubs.
Bus: Biecz’s bus station links the town with Gorlice, Jasło and Nowy Sącz. Regional buses are the most reliable public transport for reaching Biecz; fares are modest (single-digit to low‑teens PLN).
How to Get Around Biecz#
Biecz is most conveniently reached by bus or by train to nearby hubs (Gorlice/Jasło) with a short onward bus or taxi. Within town, walking and short taxi rides are the norm.
- Regional bus (8-20 PLN) - Buses connect Biecz with Gorlice, Jasło and other local towns; they are the most practical public option. Tickets are inexpensive and sold at the station or on board-service frequency is higher on weekdays.
- Train (to nearby hubs) (8-30 PLN) - Use trains to reach Gorlice or Jasło and transfer to a bus or taxi for the final leg to Biecz. Trains are reliable for the larger towns but Biecz itself lacks direct passenger rail service.
- Taxi (20-80 PLN) - Taxis are useful for direct transfers from nearby rail stations or for early/late travel when buses aren’t running. Negotiate fares in advance for longer trips.
