Bernabéu (stadium)

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is a major football stadium in Madrid and the home of Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. It opened in 1947 and has been expanded and renovated multiple times to increase capacity and modernize facilities.

The venue hosts domestic league matches, UEFA competitions and high-profile international fixtures. Visitors commonly use the official stadium tour to see the pitch, trophy displays, player areas and ceremonial rooms.

Architecturally the stadium has undergone several renovation phases, most recently focused on adding a retractable roof and upgraded hospitality and media facilities. It remains one of Europe’s largest club stadiums and a central feature of Madrid’s Chamartín district.

Located in the northern part of Madrid, it is served by local public transport and lies within the Community of Madrid urban area, making it accessible from the city center.
