Berkeley Springs State Park is a small state park centered on naturally warm mineral springs in the town of Berkeley Springs (Bath), West Virginia. The springs and bathing facilities are the historic core of the town.
The park contains a Roman-style bathing pavilion, warm mineral spring sites and nearby spa and bathing facilities where visitors can experience the springs. Interpretive material and historic buildings in the town explain the area’s long use as a spa destination.
The springs were used for bathing and health-related visits from colonial times onward, and the area became a well-known spa town through the 18th and 19th centuries. Notable historical figures, including early American leaders, visited the springs.
The park is located in the town of Berkeley Springs in Morgan County in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. The nearest larger city is Winchester, Virginia, to the east-southeast; the park sits within a valley of the Appalachian Ridge and Valley region.
