Bengtskär is a small skerry in the Baltic Sea off the southwest coast of Finland that hosts a notable lighthouse complex. The lighthouse complex dates from the early 20th century and dominates the tiny island.

The tower and attendant keeper buildings form the primary attraction; the island also contains wartime remains from a naval attack in 1941. The lighthouse operates as a museum and visitor facility with guided visits offered in summer.

Constructed to improve navigation through the outer Finnish archipelago, the buildings have been maintained and adapted for tourism while preserving historical features. The site is uninhabited outside the tourist season except for maintenance staff.

Bengtskär lies in the Archipelago Sea of Southwest Finland, several tens of kilometres off the Finnish mainland coast and reachable by seasonal ferry or charter from nearby coastal towns.

  • 1941 battle site: The site was the scene of a 1941 World War II skirmish between Finnish and Soviet forces and retains wartime fortifications and memorials.
  • Visitor access: Seasonal visitor boats run from mainland archipelago towns and guided tours of the lighthouse and keeper buildings are available in summer months.
