Belmont–Paul Women's Equality National Monument

The Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument in Washington, D.C. preserves a historic house that served as the headquarters of the National Woman’s Party and a center for women’s suffrage and equality activism. It was designated a national monument in 2016 and contains museum exhibits and archival collections.

The house was adapted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and became the National Woman’s Party headquarters where policy work, lobbying and public campaigns were organized through much of the 20th century. Its later designation as a national monument recognized the site’s central role in U.S. women’s rights history and preserved both the building and its documentary collections.

The monument is located in northeast Washington, D.C., within the Capitol Hill / Stanton Park area, a short distance from the National Mall and other federal landmarks.
