Beinn Fhada is a mountain in the Scottish Highlands. It is a named upland summit that attracts hillwalkers familiar with the region.
Routes to the summit traverse typical Highland terrain of heather, rock and peat hags and provide wide views from the top on clear days. Walks are undertaken as day routes from nearby glens and tracks.
The peak is a natural landform formed by geological and glacial action; it has no built history and has been used for grazing and recreation. Over time informal footpaths have developed from repeated use by walkers and shepherding activity.
The mountain sits within the Highlands of Scotland; nearby are rural glens and small settlements, with the nearest larger towns at a regional distance.
How to Get to Beinn Fhada #
Access is usually via the A87 or local B‑roads serving Kintail; the nearest sizable settlement is Kyle of Lochalsh. Park where minor roads end and follow estate tracks and stalkers’ paths onto the ridge; expect rough ground in places.
