How to Get to Bayankhongor
Bayankhongor is most commonly reached by a short domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar or by a long overland bus/minivan. The airport is close to town and taxis or local vehicles handle short transfers.
Bayankhongor Airport (BYN): Bayankhongor has a regional airport with scheduled domestic flights to/from Ulaanbaatar. Flight time is about 1-1.5 hours; taxis into the provincial centre are short and typically cost a few thousand MNT.
Ulaanbaatar (ULN): International arrivals normally connect through Ulaanbaatar and then take a domestic service to Bayankhongor. Domestic flight schedules can be limited - check airline timetables and book in advance.
