Badhyz State Nature Reserve is a protected area in south-central Turkmenistan that conserves semi-desert and mountain-steppe ecosystems. The reserve is known for populations of Central Asian large mammals adapted to arid environments.
The area was formally protected in the Soviet and post-Soviet periods to conserve regionally important species and habitats. Management has focused on preventing poaching and preserving migration and grazing corridors for native mammals.
