Badajoz Cathedral, formally the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Badajoz in Extremadura, Spain. It occupies a central position in the old quarter of Badajoz.
The building exhibits a mixture of architectural styles resulting from medieval origins and later alterations, with Gothic and Baroque elements visible in different parts of the structure. It functions as the principal church of the city and a local religious centre.
The cathedral was constructed and modified over several centuries following the Christian reconquest of the city; successive works and restorations have created the present composite appearance. It sits close to the Alcazaba fortress and other historic urban fabric.

From Badajoz bus station (Estación de Autobuses), the cathedral is a 10-15 minute walk east along Calle Menacho and past the Alcazaba. By car, follow signs to Centro Histórico and Plaza de la Catedral; limited parking in surrounding streets.

- Visit just after the noon mass (check local schedule) when the nave empties and light pours across the Baroque whitewash.
- Climb the south tower for the bell chamber and a modest view - entrance and hours are irregular so ask at the sacristy on arrival.
- Look for the Moorish-influenced Mudejar capitals near the transept; they're easy to miss under later Baroque repainting.
