Azad Kooh (also Azad Kuh) is a mountain peak in the central Alborz range of Mazandaran province in northern Iran, known as a popular objective for hikers and climbers. It is one of the notable summits in the Alborz chain and is commonly approached from nearby valleys.
Routes to the summit are a mixture of steep hiking and moderate scrambling rather than technical alpine climbing on the normal lines, and the mountain is frequented by experienced trekkers during the climbing season. Weather can change rapidly at altitude and snow persists into late spring in higher areas.
