Asahi-dake is the highest mountain on the island of Hokkaido, Japan, reaching 2,291 metres. It is a stratovolcano and the tallest peak in the Daisetsuzan range.
The mountain is noted for its alpine vegetation, volcanic landscapes and seasonal activities - marked trails and the Asahidake Ropeway provide access into the high alpine zone, and the area is popular for summer hiking and winter ski touring.
