Architectural, Residential and Cultural Complex of the Radziwill Family at Nesvizh

The Architectural, Residential and Cultural Complex of the Radziwill Family at Nesvizh is a large estate centred on a castle, church and landscaped park in central Belarus. The ensemble was developed by the Radziwill noble family from the late 16th century onward.

The focal point is the multi-wing castle and its interior ceremonial rooms, together with the adjacent Church of Corpus Christi and formal gardens, ponds and avenues that form an integrated aristocratic residence. The complex illustrates Renaissance and Baroque architectural phases adapted to a residential landscape.

Construction began for the Radziwill family in the late 16th century and the site remained a principal seat of the family for centuries, undergoing successive renovations and expansions reflecting changing tastes and functions. It served as a ducal residence and cultural centre before changes in ownership and function in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Nesvizh is located in Minsk region of Belarus, adjacent to the town that bears its name and set within a cultivated lowland landscape of parks and waterways.
