How to Get to Ar-Ruʼays
Ar-Ru'ays is a coastal town in northern Qatar with no local commercial airport or rail service; road travel from Doha is the usual route. Prepare for a long drive or pre-arranged transfer when arriving from DOH.
Hamad International Airport (DOH): Ar-Ru’ays (Al Ruwais) in northern Qatar has no commercial airline service - most travellers fly into DOH and travel north by road. The drive can be long (around 3-4 hours) depending on exact destination and stops; taxis and private transfers are available but costs rise with distance.
Private / charter flights: Limited corporate or private charters may operate to serve oil-and-gas sector needs; these are arranged through companies and are not regular public services.
Train: There is currently no intercity passenger rail to Ar-Ru’ays; Doha Metro does not extend to the far north.
