Aonach Mòr is a mountain in the Scottish Highlands near Fort William with a summit around 1,220 metres in elevation and well known for its mountain recreation facilities.
The mountain’s slopes host the Nevis Range ski area, which includes lift-served terrain and a gondola providing access to higher skiing and walking ground. In summer the area is used for hiking, scrambling and as a starting point for ridge routes.
The mountain has long been part of local hillwalking and mountaineering activity; in the later 20th century recreational infrastructure was developed to support winter skiing and year-round visitor access.
Situated in Lochaber in the western Highlands, the mountain lies a short drive from Fort William and is part of the broader Nevis Range to the east of Ben Nevis.
