Antonis Tritsis Metropolitan Park

Antonis Tritsis Metropolitan Park is a large municipal park in the western suburbs of Athens, named after the Greek politician Antonis Tritsis. It functions as a major urban green space and environmental education area for the Attica region.

The park contains wetlands and artificial lakes, wooded areas and planted gardens, a network of walking and cycling paths, and facilities used for environmental education and local recreation. Its varied habitats make it a noted place for urban birdwatching and outdoor exercise within the metropolitan area.

The site was developed and expanded in the late 20th century and was named to honor Antonis Tritsis; it has been managed as a municipal green space with a focus on conservation and education. Over time the park has hosted urban restoration and planting projects to increase biodiversity and public access.

Located in the western Athens suburbs of the Attica region, the park lies roughly 8 to 12 kilometres west of central Athens and is accessible by road from surrounding municipalities. The landscape is primarily flat with planted woodlands, open lawns and constructed wetland basins.
