Antipaxos is a small, privately frequented island in the Ionian Sea just south of Paxos, Greece. It is noted for its clear turquoise waters, pebble beaches and short-term visitor use rather than permanent development.
Two small beaches with pale pebbles and shallow, clear water are the island’s principal attractions and are commonly visited on day trips from Paxos and Corfu. There are few built facilities, and the island’s character is defined by its shoreline and marine access.
The island has only a very small year-round population and is visited primarily in the summer months by boat operators and private craft.
Geographically it lies immediately south of Paxos in the Ionian Islands, within easy boat range of Corfu and the surrounding islands.
- Access and facilities: No regular vehicular infrastructure and only limited visitor facilities; most visitors arrive by short boat trips from nearby Paxos.
What to See #
- Vrika Beach: A small sheltered bay with pale pebble beaches and very clear, shallow water that is popular for swimming and snorkeling on day trips.
- Voutoumi Beach: A blue-green cove and pebble shoreline favoured for swimming and short anchoring stops by excursion boats from Paxos and Corfu.
How to Get to Antipaxos #

Boats can drop visitors at Voutoumi or Vrika beaches; some skippers will pick up later in the afternoon. From Corfu, visitors typically transfer to Paxos (ferry from Corfu Town to Gaios) then cross to Antipaxos.

- Leave no trace-Antipaxos has a tiny population and limited waste infrastructure.
- Hire a small boat from Gaios (Paxos) for the day and ask to be dropped at Voutoumi or Vrika beaches; some skippers will show hidden coves.
