Angrignon Park is an urban municipal park in Montreal, Quebec, located in the borough of Le Sud-Ouest. It covers roughly 97 hectares, making it one of the city’s larger green spaces and an important recreational area for the southwest sectors of the island.
The park includes a large pond and extensive wooded paths used for walking, jogging, cycling and informal winter activities such as sledding. There are picnic areas, open lawns and a network of trails that cross a mix of planted and naturalized stands of trees, used year-round by residents.
The site was laid out and developed by the City of Montreal as public parkland during the 20th century and has been managed as a municipal park since then. Over time it has remained primarily a recreational green space while the surrounding neighbourhoods and transport links have grown.
Angrignon Park sits in southwest Montreal roughly 10 kilometers southwest of downtown. It is bounded by major roads and is adjacent to the Angrignon Metro terminus and the Carrefour Angrignon shopping area, giving it a clearly urban setting within a larger residential and commercial zone.
