Anfield

Anfield is the home stadium of Liverpool Football Club in the Anfield district of Liverpool, England, opened in 1884 and one of English football’s most historic grounds.

Originally built for Everton before Liverpool F.C. formed in 1892, the ground has been expanded and redeveloped periodically, most recently with a major Main Stand redevelopment that increased capacity. The stadium has been adapted repeatedly to modern safety and spectator standards while retaining historic elements.

Situated close to Liverpool city centre in the Anfield neighbourhood, the stadium is within a few kilometres of central Liverpool and accessible by local public transport and match-day shuttle services.

• Match-day experience: Anfield's anthem traditions - pre-match singing of "You'll Never Walk Alone" on the Kop is a well-known feature and best experienced by attending a home match or official stadium tour.

• Main stands: The four main stands are the Main Stand, the Kop, the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand (formerly the Centenary/Anfield Road side) and the Anfield Road End, each forming the rectangular stadium bowl.
