Alwar is served by nearby international airports in Delhi (Indira Gandhi International, DEL) and Jaipur (JAI) and has its own railhead at Alwar Junction (AWR) on the Delhi-Jaipur line. Most visitors arrive by train or by road from Delhi/Jaipur; plan for 2-4 hours travel from those cities depending on your service and traffic.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL): The main international gateway for Alwar is Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. From DEL you can reach Alwar by train or bus from Delhi city (see train/bus card) or by taxi/prepaid cab directly from the airport. A one-way prepaid taxi to Alwar typically takes about 3-4 hours depending on traffic; fares are commonly in the range of approximately INR 2,500-4,500. If you prefer public transport, take the airport metro or a taxi into central Delhi (New Delhi/Nizamuddin) then a direct train to Alwar Junction (AWR).

Jaipur International Airport (JAI): Jaipur is the closer state capital airport for many coming from within India.
