Aliartos in central Greece is conveniently reached from Athens by regional train or KTEL bus. Travel times are short, making day trips from Athens feasible.
Athens Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH): Athens is the main international gateway for Aliartos (about 11.5 hours by road). From the airport take the suburban rail (Proastiakos) or bus into Athens then KTEL buses from Kifissos bus station toward Thebes / Livadeia and local connections to Aliartos.
Thessaloniki (SKG): For northern arrivals Thessaloniki is an alternative but the onward journey to central Greece will be significantly longer by road or rail.
Train: Aliartos has a railway station on the AthensChalkida/Thiva regional lines (OSE/Proastiakos services); trains from Athens to nearby hubs run several times a day.
Bus: KTEL Viotia operates buses linking Athens (Kifissos) with Thebes (Thiva) and regional towns; from Thebes or Livadeia you can reach Aliartos by local bus or taxi.
