Alfàbia

Alfàbia is a historic rural estate and garden complex on the island of Mallorca in the Balearic Islands, with origins in the Moorish period. Its key heritage value is the surviving garden layout and water-management features dating back to medieval times.

The site comprises a small manor house and formal terraced gardens with stone channels, cisterns and ponds. Plantings include citrus trees and Mediterranean species and the layout emphasises shade, water and enclosed garden rooms.

The estate has Moorish origins, with the garden and irrigation system established during the medieval period and the manor house and later additions developed under subsequent Christian ownership. The property evolved as an agricultural and residential estate before being preserved for its historic gardens.

Alfàbia sits on the lower slopes of the Serra de Tramuntana near the town of Bunyola in northwestern Mallorca, within the municipality of Bunyola and accessible from Palma by road.
