Why Visit Al Shamal? #
In Qatar’s far north, Al Shamal appeals to travelers who like wide beaches, desert dunes and history. The Al Zubarah archaeological site and fort - a UNESCO-listed pearl-fishing town - anchor visits, while coastal spots like Ras Rakan offer quiet beaches and wind-carved landscapes. Small fishing villages, camel trails and seasonal migratory birds provide nature-focused contrasts to the region’s archaeological draw.
