Al-Saleh Mosque Mosque

Al-Saleh Mosque is a large modern mosque complex in Sana’a, Yemen, opened in 2008 and financed by the government. It is one of the most prominent contemporary religious buildings in the capital.

The complex comprises a main prayer hall, multiple minarets and surrounding courtyards and gardens finished with marble and decorative stonework. It is used for Friday prayers and major religious and official ceremonies.

The mosque was constructed in the early 21st century during the presidency of Ali Abdullah Saleh and represents a major modern religious building project in Yemen. It has been a focal point for national religious life since its opening.

The mosque sits in the Amanat al Asimah (Sana’a) governorate near the city centre and presidential precinct of the capital.
