How to Get to Al Khor (city)

Al Khor lies north of Doha and is most commonly reached by road from Doha or Hamad International Airport. There's no metro link, so cars, taxis and Mowasalat intercity buses are the realistic options for most visitors.

By Air

Hamad International Airport (DOH): The main international airport for Qatar; from DOH a direct taxi or ride-hail to Al Khor takes roughly 40-60 minutes depending on traffic (approx. QAR 60-120). There is no direct metro service to Al Khor, so road travel is the usual option for visitors arriving by air.

By Train & Bus

Train: There is currently no passenger rail or metro service that reaches Al Khor - Doha Metro does not extend to Al Khor as of now.

Bus: Mowasalat (Karwa) operates intercity bus routes and charter services connecting Doha with Al Khor; journey times from central Doha are typically 40-60 minutes depending on traffic. Fares for intercity buses are modest (often in the single-digit QAR range), while private taxi or Careem trips cost more (approx. QAR 60-120). How to Get Around Al Khor (city) #

Al Khor is compact enough to walk around the corniche and main streets; taxis and local buses link it to Doha and neighbouring towns. Renting a car gives you the most flexibility to reach beaches and nearby attractions.
