How to Get to Akdamar Island #
Akdamar Island (in Lake Van) is reached by boat from the shore town of Gevaş (Gevash), which has a small harbour with regular tourist boats to the island. Gevaş is reached by road from the city of Van by local minibuses (dolmuş) and by car; once you arrive at the Gevaş quay you board a short boat crossing to the island and then walk a short distance from the landing to the historic church.

- Take the scheduled boat from Gevaş (the usual departure point) during the summer season-ferry service is most reliable from late spring through early autumn and is limited in winter.
