Agonda is a coastal village in South Goa known for its long sandy beach and a quieter atmosphere compared with many other Goan beaches. The shoreline and village serve both local residents and visitors seeking a lower-density beach experience.

The beach stretches for about 3 kilometres and attracts swimmers, sunbathers and small-scale tourism businesses such as guesthouses and beach shacks. Conservation concerns have led to local measures to protect marine turtle nesting areas.

Agonda sits on the southern coast of Goa near the Canacona area and is accessed by road from regional centers such as Margao and the Goa state highway network.

• Turtle nesting: Agonda is a seasonal nesting site for olive ridley sea turtles; nesting season and conservation measures affect access in certain areas and times of year.

Agonda is about 7-9 km south of Palolem and around 70-80 km from Goa’s main airport (Dabolim). Buses, taxis and hired scooters connect Agonda with other Goa destinations; the closest larger town with frequent transport links is Margao.
