Bus: Public minibuses and intercity buses connect La Paz/El Alto with towns on the eastern shore of Lake Titicaca, including Achacachi. Bus journeys from La Paz to Achacachi take around 2-3 hours depending on route and traffic at high altitude; fares are low (local Boliviano cash) and schedules are run by local companies from La Paz terminals.
