Abu Salabikh

Abu Salabikh is an archaeological site in southern Iraq known for Early Dynastic and Sumerian-period remains. The site is noted for yielding some of the earliest preserved cuneiform tablets.

The visible remains are primarily archaeological mounds and excavation areas rather than standing architecture. Recovered finds from the site include clay tablets with administrative and literary texts that are important for the study of early Mesopotamian writing.
