The island’s visitor attractions are concentrated and compact - spa and thermal treatments, a shell-adorned chapel, hotel and casino facilities, promenades and small beaches all sit within easy walking distance across the island.

The site developed into a leisure and spa destination in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and has since remained a regional resort for domestic and Spanish visitors.

A Toxa sits off the coast of the municipality of O Grove in Pontevedra province, in the estuary of the Ría de Arousa; it is reached from the town of O Grove by a short bridge.

From nearby coastal towns drive to O Grove and follow local signs onto the island; the island is commonly visited by car from Pontevedra and Sanxenxo (driving distances depend on your start point). On arrival there is short walking distance from the island’s car parks to the spa and main sights.
