Thua Thien-Hue Province Travel Guide
The province of Thu Thien is set in the north central part of Vietnam, roughly in the heart of the country. It has a multifaceted topography since its four different zones comprise hills, mountains, plains and lagoons detached from the South China Sea by sandbanks. There are 126kms (78 miles) of beaches in Thu Thien.
Tourism is a significant contributor to the economy of Thu Thien, with the provincial capital Hué a remarkable ancient imperial capital that has been kept nearly undamaged. Its royal architecture includes clusters of palaces, temples, citadels, shrines, pagodas and mausoleums. Hué has therefore been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Hué’s small airport handles daily flights to and from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; however, flights are frequently disrupted throughout the rainy season.
