Quang Ngai Province Travel Guide
Quang Nai province is located on the south central coast of Vietnam and is about 833kms (518 miles) from Hanoi. The provincial capital of the same name, Quang Nai, doesn’t have much to attract tourists, with most tourists spending their time exploring surrounding areas.
Most tourists use Quang Ngai as a base to get to the excellent museum of Son My, located about 10kms (six miles) away. Son My Museum features the My Lai Massacre, the tragic slaughter of 504 unarmed villagers by American forces in 1968. About two kilometers (1.2 miles) from Quang Ngai is My Khe beach with its clear waters and white sand.
To the south of the provincial capital are many gorgeous towns. Tuy Hoa is a lovely seaside town offering impressive beaches and a wide range of seafood. Qui Nhon has an array of beautiful landmarks and is a bustling port city. Another delightful beach town is Sa Huynh, about 27kms (17 miles) south of Quang Nai city.
Tam Ky, to the north of Quang Ngai. Here, offers easy access to the delightful Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Tam Ky itself boasts a charming atmosphere and scenic sceneries.
Quang Ngai has good facilities for tourists, featuring many local eateries and various accommodations. The province is connected to major cities like Dalat, Danang and Ho Chi Mihn City by regular buses. The province is a popular stop on the way from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City.
