Getting There & Around

How to Get to Poro Island

Poro is reached by ferry from Cebu province; services run from Cebu City-area ports (including Danao and other regional piers) and from nearby Camotes islands. Crossings vary by vessel: fastcrafts are quicker but less frequent, and traditional ferries take longer. On arrival, local tricycles and motorbike taxis (“habal-habal”) are the usual ways to move around the island.

Tips for Visiting Poro Island

  • Check local ferry timetables in advance - services between Cebu and the Camotes Islands change seasonally.
  • Carry cash; small shops and boat operators on Poro may not accept cards.
  • Hire a habal-habal (motorbike taxi) for short island hops or to reach quieter beaches - negotiate the fare first.
