Housed in an eye-catching Shan-style wooden building on stilts at the eastern edge of Mae Sariang, this small museum showcases the region’s ethnic cultures.

About the Mae Sariang Museum#

Completed only a few years ago, the single-storey wooden building on stilts is topped by a fabulous roof in classic Shan architecture, making it worth a look even from the outside.

Inside, displays illustrate the lifestyles of local ethnic groups such as the Karen, Lawa and Hmong. A shop sells One Tambon One Product (OTOP) goods made locally, so you can pick up a handmade souvenir.
