Luxi Travel Guide

Situated in Yunnan Province, Luxi is small city with a unique atmosphere and cultural heritage. Although it has been a city since 1996, Luxi still has the feel of a small town.

There isn’t a lot of nightlife here, but the surrounding natural beauty more than makes up for that. This is a good area for trekking and hiking as the forests surrounding the city contain a number of natural features such as caves and streams.

There are a number of vibrant celebrations held in Luxi throughout the year and this is the time when the otherwise sleepy small city comes to life. Although there is usually plenty of accommodation available for visitors to Luxi, it is best to book in advance during festivals as people travel from far and wide to take part in the festivities.

Getting There & Away

Luxi Mangshi Airport connects to many of China’s main international airports such as Shanghai (55 minutes). It takes about 10 minutes to get from the airport into the center of Luxi. Luxi also has a large bus station and buses arrive here from all over Yunnan and beyond.
